This work focuses on the study of the reactivity of two natural diterpenes, kaurenoic acid (1) and beyerenoic acid (2), against salts of Ru(II) and Pt(II). Both kaurenoic acid and beyerenoic acid are of great interest in the pharmaceutical industry since they have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and cytotoxic activity (Zamilpa et al., 2002; Cavalcanti et al., 2006; Padla et al., 2012). While the salts of Ru(II) and Pt(II) are of great interest in the pharmacological area due to their use as cytotoxic and / or catalytic agent. The study of the reactivity of natural diterpenes towards Pt(II) and Ru(II) has not been explored before, despite all the chemical and biological advantages they offer, so this work represents the first study of acid reactivity Kaurenoic acid (1) and beyerenoic acid (2), against salts of Ru (II) and Pt (II). Giving the possibility of obtaining complexes of structural importance and with possible biological and or catalytic activity (8, 9, 10 and 12).
