"Apple is an important crop for the regions of Coahuila and Nuevo Leon where, over a 8000 hectares surface is established; being Golden Delicious (GD) the most important cultivar. Climate change in last 4-5 years has resulted in a lack of winter chilling causing in trees to behave more vegetative and less productive with erratic bud breaking and low fruit set. The lack of winter chilling has been a factor for the apple tree to reflect physiological and phenotypic changes. Several mutants of this cultivar with less chilling requirement have been detected and have been named: 'Aguanueva II', 'Brotador', 'Primicia' and 'Tunal'. This research was conducted with the objective to know on the pomological characteristics, to learn on the possible presence of endogenous gibberellins in apex and seeds of immature fruits and its translocation within the spur tissue in refered apple mutants. Based on winter chilling accumulation data for 20162017,tree phenotype and pomological and bromatological characteristics in ripen fruit were evaluated. It was observed in all mutants a similar behaviour pattern in phenotype, pomological and fruit quality profile as that for Golden Delicious. Yield was higher in any mutant than in GD. When 10 µl of 50% ethanolic solution with 0.5 µCi of [3H]- AG4 was injected to immature fruit seeds, more radioactive gibberellin was detected in the spur tissue. Apices from 10 cm new growth and immature fruit seeds were collected early in the spring for gibberellin identification using the gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC - MS) technique. The presence of gibberellins A4 and A7 was found at the apex of all mutants; While A1 was detected only in 'Aguanueva II' and 'Primicia'. Inactive gibberellinss were also found in some of them. In fruit seeds, the biologically active gibberellins A4 and A7 were present in all mutants; Whilst AG1 was identified in 'Aguanueva II'. Several inactive gibberellins such as A9, A12, A17, A20, A44 y A53 were also present among these apple mutants. It was concluded that the apple mutants Aguanueva II, Primicia, Brotador and Tunal behave in a similar pattern as the normal Golden Delicious; the active gibberellins in seeds and in the apex, do not alter the phenotype of the normal   xiv    GD and the gibberellins A4 and A7 are consistently present in the studied apple mutants."
