La presente tesis tiene como objetivo señalar la importancia de los derechos humanos con perspectiva de género aplicado al desarrollo rural del municipio de Jilotepec, Estado de México. El estudio es cualitativo-cuantitativo, y se utilizó para la obtención de la información “el cuestionario”, “la entrevista” y un “taller”. Las y los informantes clave fueron autoridades del municipio de Jilotepec, líderes de tres Organizaciones No Gubernamentales y beneficiari@s de éstas. Entre los datos obtenidos encontramos que en l@s beneficiari@s de las organizaciones rurales existe un desconocimiento de las funciones de las dependencias que protegen los derechos humanos. Se reconoce la ardua labor que las organizaciones rurales UNORCA, RED MUJER han hecho en el municipio en cuanto al tema de equidad de género. Las y los entrevistados consideran que cada vez se respeta más la equidad de género en los derechos de la educación, salud y representación política no obstante, en el derecho al trabajo se observa que; sigue existiendo mayor preferencia para contratar a hombres. _______________ RURAL DEVELOPMENT, GENDER AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN JILOTEPEC, STATE OF MEXICO. ABSTRACT: The objective of this research is to point out the importance of human rights with a gender perspective, applied to the rural development of Jilotepec, State of México. The study used both, qualitative and quantitative methods and the information was gotten through: “questionnaire”, “interview” and “workshop”. The key informants were: Jilotepec’s Township authorities, leaders of three rural organizations (NGOs) and the organizations beneficiaries. Among the results of this research it was found that the rural organizations’ beneficiaries have a lack of knowledge about the functions of agencies which protect their human rights. The hard work in Jilotepec's township, made by the rural organizations “UNORCA” and “RED MUJER” in topic of gender equity is recognized. The men and women interviewees consider that there is more and more respect to gender equity specially in education, health and political representation rights, however, regarding the right to work, is noted that even now, is still more preferred to hire men.
