Selenio y vitamina E en la fertilidad de ovejas pelibuey sincronizadas con progesterona

El selenio y la vitamina E tienen funciones importantes para mantener la integridad de la membrana celular, razón por la cual se les relaciona con la reproducción. La finalidad fue evaluar el efecto de la administración subcutánea de Selenio y Vitamina E (Se-VE), de gonadotropina corionica equina (eCG) y una estrategia de alimentación (Alimentación Dirigida; AD) en la fertilidad de ovejas Pelibuey. La aplicación de Se-VE se realizó dos días antes del retiro de la progesterona y se observó la incidencia, inicio y distribución del estro a través del tiempo, tasa ovulatoria, porcentajes de retorno a estros, parición y fertilidad, así como la fecundidad y prolificidad. Se utilizaron 96 ovejas las cuales fueron agrupadas y asignadas al azar a uno de ocho tratamientos. Solo progesterona (P; T1; n=12), P+Se-VE (T2; n=12), P+eCG (T3; n=12), P+Alimentación dirigida (AD; T4; n=12), P+Se-VE+eCG (T5; n=12), P+Se-VE+AD (T6; n=12), P+eCG+AD (T7; n=12) y P+Se-VE+eCG+AD (T8; n=12). El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante pruebas de Chi cuadrada para las variables expresadas en conteos (%) y análisis de varianza, por el procedimiento de modelos lineales general (PROC GLM) del paquete estadístico SAS, para las variables de respuesta numéricas y comparación de medias por la prueba de Tukey. En incidencia de estros no se encontraron diferencias (p>0.05) con 99% de hembras en estro. El intervalo inicio del estro fue diferente (p≤0.05) para eCG con 28.92 ± 1.96. No se observaron diferencias (p>0.05) para tasa ovulatoria, retorno al estro, fertilidad, parición, fecundidad y prolificidad para ninguno de los tratamientos. La aplicación de Se-VE, eCG y una estrategia de alimentación no aumenta la fertilidad de las ovejas Pelibuey. _______________ SELENIUM AND VITAMIN E IN THE FERTILITY OF PELIBUEY EWES SYNCHRONIZED WITH PROGESTERONE. ABSTRACT : Both the Selenium and the vitamin E have functions important to maintain the integrity of the cellular membrane, reason for which they are related with the reproduction. The purpose was to evaluate the effect of the subcutaneous administration of Selenium and Vitamin E (Se-VE), of Equine Chorionic Gonadotropin (eCG) and a strategy of feeding (Directed Feeding; AD) in the fertility of Pelibuey ewes. The application of Se-VE was realized two days before the remove of the progesterone and the incidence, beginning and distribution of oestrus was observed through time, the ovulatory rate, percentage of return to oestrus, ewes lambing and fertility, as well as the fecundity and prolificacy. Ninety six ewes were used which were grouped and assigned at random to one of eight treatments. Only progesterone (P; T1; n=12), P+Se-VE (T2; n=12), P+eCG (T3; n=12), P+Directed Feeding (AD; T4; n=12), P+Se-VE+eCG (T5; n=12), P+Se-VE+AD (T6; n=12), P+eCG+AD (T7; n=12) and P+Se-VE+eCG+AD (T8; n=12). The data was analyzed by means of tests of Chi squared for the expressed variables in counts (%) and analysis of variance, by the procedure of linear models general (PROC GLM) of statistical package SAS, for the variables of numerical answer and comparison of means by the test of Tukey. In incidence of oestrous were not differences (p>0.05) with 99% of females in oestrus. The interval beginning of oestrus was different (p≤0.05) for eCG with 28.92 ± 1.96. Differences were not observed (p>0.05) for ovulatory rate, return to oestrus, ewes lambing, fertility, fecundity and prolificacy for none of the treatments. The application of Se-VE, eCG and a strategy of feeding does not increase the fertility of the Pelibuey ewes.
