"El objetivo de este trabajo consistió en valorar el comportamiento de una serie de cruzas triples involucrando dos y tres líneas de diferente fondo genético, que originó diferentes dosis de germoplásma. Se utilizaron 53 líneas endogámicas derivadas de 5 grupos germoplásmicos que fueron cruzadas con 13 cruzas simples formadas con líneas dentro y entre grupos, de tal manera que se obtuvieron híbridos triples involucrando dos y tres grupos. En este último caso, también se diferenciaron los híbridos por el orden de los progenitores en la cruza, generando dosis de germoplásma diversos. Las 37 combinaciones diferentes más un grupo integrado por testigos fueron evaluados en la primavera del 2006 en Comonfort y Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato. La parcela experimental fue un surco con 21 plantas separadas a 0.19 m y a una distancia entre surcos de 0.75 m. La selección del material genético se baso en el comportamiento agronómico promedio y al valor de ACG y ACE de las líneas y cruzas. El análisis de varianza combinado indicó que las localidades presentaron diferencias estadísticas (P􀂔0.01) en las cuatro variables evaluadas, mientras que las repeticiones solo lo fueron en dos variables. Las 38 combinaciones bajo consideración presentaron diferencias estadísticas (P􀂔0.01) en las variables rendimiento y floración masculina y femenina, debido a la variabilidad que presentaron las líneas dentro y entre grupos; además, por la diferencias en la dosis de germoplásma entre las combinaciones. Cuatro de estas combinaciones mostraron atributos favorables, dos de ellas estuvieron formadas por dos grupos germoplásmicos y; las otras dos combinaciones, fueron formadas con líneas de tres diferentes grupos. La descomposición de los híbridos en línea y probador, indicó que la variabilidad de los híbridos se debió mayormente a las líneas, seguido de los probadores y por último, de la interacción línea x probador"
