"The present study aimed to evaluate the property of normal distribution of the agronomic variables that are commonly taken in research work carried out at the "Antonio Narro" Autonomous Agrarian University. To carry out the evaluation, satisfactory approximations of the expected values of the statistics of order {mn-k + 1} and coefficients {an-k + 1} were obtained for the Shapiro-Wilk normality test. The crops studied were: corn, beans, sorghum, tomato, wheat, triticali, barley, rice, potato, Star of Africa grass, peach and walnut; the agronomic characteristics that were evaluated were those that - are related to: yield components, bromatological properties, hydric properties and physico-chemical properties of the soil. In the analyzes, it was found that in the physicochemical and bromatological properties that are evaluated in meq, mg, ppm, percent and gr, in general, in more than 30 percent of the cases they presented non-normality."
