TAMASA Ethiopia. Yield, soil and agronomy data from farmers’ maize fields collected by CSA, 2015 season

MESFIN KEBEDE DESTA (2017)

This files ontains yiedl and soils data coillected by CSA (Central Statistical Agency) from four zones in Oromia (East Showa, Wollega, West and South West Showa and Jimma) and one Zone in Amhara (West Gojjam). A total of 38 primary sampling units were covered and making a total of 383 sampling points. Unreplicated crop cuts were made on farmers maize fields and yield measured. Soil samples were also collected at 0-20 and 20-50cm but are not all analysed yet.

TAMASA Ethiopia. Variety phenology calibration dataset, 2016

MESFIN KEBEDE DESTA Henri TONNANG (2017)

Experiments at five locations (Dedessa, Uke, Bako, Ambo, Holleta) in Ethiopia on an altitude gradient (1231 to 2351 m) to calibrate development or phenology of 20 maize varieties. There were two to three sowing dates at each location. Observations include dates of emergence, tassel, silking and maturity; biomass and grain yields.

TAMASA Ethiopia. Yield, soil and agronomy data from 70 farmers’ maize fields in Bako, Ethiopia, 2015 season.

MESFIN KEBEDE DESTA (2017)

Agronomy and yield survey of approximately 70 maize fields in one 10 x 10km2 area in Bako in 2015 conducted by EIAR and CIMMYT. Replicated crop cuts of 16m2 in farmers fields along with addition data on agronomy, household characteristics, fertilizer use, variety, and soil analysis.

TAMASA Ethiopia. Performance trial dataset for validating maize nutrient management recommendations, 2016 season.

MESFIN KEBEDE DESTA Tolera Abera Goshu (2017)

Performance trials (N=52) in two zones (West Shewa and Jimma) in Ethiopia. Trials comprise four nutrient management treatments, namely control with zero fertilizer ; and three fertilizer recommendations to achieve the same target yield based on regional fertilizer recommendation, a Nutrient Expert (IPNI software) based recommendation and a soil-test NE based recommendation. Trials were conducted on-farm with four plots per farm. Observations include biomass and grain yields, as well as pre-sowing pH, nitrogen and phosphorus levels. Some N & K data are missing.

TAMASA Ethiopia. Agronomy Panel Survey 2016. Yield, soil and agronomy data

MESFIN KEBEDE DESTA Jordan Chamberlin Tolera Abera Goshu (2017)

Data from crop-cuts as part of the Agronomy Panel Survey (APS) implemented in Oromia in three Zones (East Wollega, West Showa and Jimma). The APS included 16 peasant associations and 76 communities across the western part of Ethiopia in 56 randomly selected 1 X 1 km areas from eight 10km x 10 km sampling grids. Replicated crop cuts were made on farmers maize fields and yield measured. Soil samples were also collected but have not been analysed yet.
