El estado de Guerrero en México celebró elecciones para gobernador, legisladores y alcaldes en junio 2015 en un entorno de violencia criminal, visible con la desaparición forzada de estudiantes en el Municipio de Iguala. En este estudio se analiza cómo la violencia criminal incidió en el ambiente político para llevar a cabo las elecciones, afectando a candidatos, funcionarios y activistas políticos (homicidios, amenazas y secuestros), así como la participación ciudadana en la integración de las casillas, la dinámica de las campañas, y la normalidad de los órganos electorales.

The state of Guerrero in Mexico held elections for governor, legislators and mayors in June 2015 in a criminal environment, visible with the forced disappearance of students in the municipality of Iguala. This study examines how criminal violence affected the political environment to carry out the elections, affecting candidates, officials and political activists (murders, threats and kidnappings); and citizen participation in the integration of the ballot boxes, the dynamics of campaigns, and the normality of the electoral bodies.

A Comparison of Multi-Label Text Classification Models in Research Articles Labeled With Sustainable Development Goals

"The classification of scientific articles aligned to Sustainable Development Goals is crucial for research institutions and universities when assessing their influence in these areas. Machine learning enables the implementation of massive text data classification tasks. The objective of this study is to apply Natural Language Processing techniques to articles from peer-reviewed journals to facilitate their classification according to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. This article compares the performance of multi-label text classification models based on a proposed framework with datasets of different characteristics. The results show that the combination of Label Powerset (a transformation method) with Support Vector Machine (a classification algorithm) can achieve an accuracy of up to 87% for an imbalanced dataset, 83% for a dataset with the same number of instances per label, and even 91% for a multiclass dataset."

Instruments, allies or adversaries: the presence of the media in the legislations of Mexican states

In this article, we analyze how the media are conceptualized in the legislation of Mexican states. Our starting point is the consideration that the rights of information and communication are recognized and guaranteed by General Constitution and federal laws, who has been thoroughly examined. However, there are very few studies focusing on state or local laws. The theoretical basis comes from discussions on media development and public communication. The methodology consisted of a cartography and subsequent argumentative analysis of a corpus of media-related articles in Mexican state legislations. The findings reveal three general media conceptualizations in the legal instruments examined: as instruments, as allies or as adversaries. The conclusions discuss the implications for democratic development.

In vitro Digestibility of Yarrowia lipolytica Yeast and Growth Performance in Whiteleg Shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

"Marine yeasts used in aquaculture disease control can also be an important protein source for improving feeding and nutrition of crustaceans. Yarrowia lipolyticca has been studied for its capacity to secrete heterologous proteins and high content of unsaturated fatty acids, beta-glucan, and mannane polymers in the cell wall. We measured in vitro digestibility of Y. lipolyticca by whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei digestive enzymes, and an in vivo assay of Y. lipolytica in feed onwhiteleg shrimp growth. We found that digestive gland enzymes of shrimp digest Y. lipolytica, based on reduced optical density of a yeast suspension. Digestion was –0.00236 ± 0.00010 OD U min–1 for intact cells and –0.00325 ± 0.00010 OD U min–1 for lysed cells. Release of reducing sugars in intact cells (5.3940 ± 0.1713 μmol h–1), and lysed cells (0.8396 ± 0.2251 μmol h–1) was measured. Digestive gland treatment significantly reduced cell viability (near 100%), relative to the control. Electron microscopy shows that the cell wall of Y. lipolytica exposed to the digestive gland enzymes was severely damaged. Shrimp diet containing Y. lipolytica resulted in significantly higher weight gain and specific growth rate of whiteleg shrimp."

Las estrategias comerciales de las cerveceras nacionales por el control del mercado de Hermosillo, Sonora, 1950-1985

El objetivo general de esta investigación es analizar las estrategias de penetración y crecimiento desarrolladas por las compañías cerveceras nacionales (Cuauhtémoc, Moctezuma y Modelo) para ampliar el mercado de Hermosillo en términos de producción, distribución y consumo entre 1950-1985. A principios del siglo XX nacieron en el país cerveceras locales que producían de manera artesanal. Así fue como poco a poco, el líquido ambarino se posicionó en el gusto de la sociedad mexicana, desplazando a otras bebidas embriagantes como el pulque, el tequila y otros aguardientes. Lo que facilitó la rápida aceptación por las formas de presentación y acceso a ella. Las compañías cerveceras concretaron estrategias para cubrir el mercado regional.

A partir de la década de los cincuenta, la Cervecería Cuauhtémoc logró incursionar en Hermosillo, un mercado cubierto por la Cervecería de Sonora; en 1960 compró a dicha empresa y la desapareció como industria local, quedándose con el mercado y sus marcas, especialmente la High Life. En breve también incursionaron las cervecerías Moctezuma y Modelo, compitiendo así, con la Cuauhtémoc. Entre todas desarrollaron estrategias con la que mantuvieron una competencia cerrada hasta conformar un mercado hasta cierto punto equilibrado.

A través de esta investigación también se analizó a la Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Cerveza (ANFACER), organismo que representó los intereses de la industria cervecera nacional e hizo prevalecer que la cerveza producida por sus agremiados era completamente saludable e higiénica; única bebida autorizada por la constitución mexicana para combatir el alcoholismo. Bajo estos argumentos, la ANFACER apoyó a las compañías cerveceras para que penetraran en el mercado de Hermosillo. El mercado de cerveza de Hermosillo se transformó luego de la federalización de los impuestos a la cerveza, en un mercado masivo en cual se dio una dura competencia entre las compañías nacionales y la local.

El Reglamento de Cantinas y Expendios de Bebidas Alcohólicas y de Cerveza en el municipio de Hermosillo en 1952 trató de inhibir la libre venta en determinados horarios y lugares de expendios para el consumo. El gobierno municipal se amparó en el reglamento para ejercer su autoridad frente al embate de las estrategias de mercadotecnia que ejercían las cerveceras que, a su vez, se amparaban también, en la federalización de impuestos de 1948. por inhibir el consumo excesivo los fines de semana, justo cuando las ventas podían alcanzar el auge en la semana.

EFFICIENT FLUORESCENT AND PHOSPHORESCENT OLEDs BY SPIN COATING TECHNIQUE AND A NEW ANODE BASED ON CONDUCTIVE PEDOT:PSS

"Fluorescent and phosphorescent Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) devices were fabricated by solution process and optimized. From their basic characterization (J-V-L curves, electroluminescence spectra) external quantum efficiency (EQE) was calculated. Two small molecule, carbazole derivatives (CZ-1 and CZ-2), previously reported and used for OLEDs showed very good luminances (~ 4000 cd/m2) and current densities (< 200 mA/cm2) resulting in a high EQE (9.5 %). Likewise, fluorescent OLEDs based in the new polymer PF-2F presented an acceptable performance even on a simple architecture with a good EQE (2.6 %), photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) about 1 and excellent properties of processability. The influence of its CF3 group in the optical, chemical, electronic and mechanical properties in OLEDs was determined.

Also, a new family of three fluorescent oligomers (BT-F32, BT-F42 and BT-F52) with excellent properties in solution, high PLQY (~1) and highly luminescent, were used in simple and multilayer OLEDs achieving a very high luminance (29 499 cd/m2). These oligomers have different chain lengths, which influence the device luminance, efficiency and their lifetime. Lifetime was monitored and the stretched exponential decay (SED) model was used in order to obtain the device half-life (LT50). Also, phosphorescent devices, based on a host/guest system (PVK:Ir(ppy)3), were prepared, the influence of the electron transport layer (ETL) into the electron/hole ratio was analyzed.

By using a new proposed method, a PEDOT:PSS anode was developed and applied in rigid and flexible substrates, with low sheet resistance (40 Ω/□) and acceptable transmittance (> 85%). This new proposed method consists in volume evaporation, in which basically the loss of water induces closeness among the conductive fractions of PEDOT. This PEDOT:PSS anode easy of fabricating following an economical procedure could be applied not just in OLEDs but in other optoelectronic devices such as organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs), perovskite solar cells (PeSCs), etc."
