Este informe describe la metodología y los resultados obtenidos en el proyecto, el cual tuvo como objetivos principales la incorporación de imágenes de los satélites LANDSAT, SPOT y RapidEye, el desarrollo de nuevas funciones para la consulta de información. y determinar las cuencas hidrológicas asociadas a 50 manglares identificados para formar parte del Plan Nacional de Restauración y Reforestación de Manglar (PNRRM) y sus cuencas hidrológicamente conectadas, y realizar 10 estudios para la determinación de reservas potenciales de agua para el medio ambiente en cuencas costeras asociadas a manglares. Dentro de los principales resultados del proyecto se puede mencionar la carga de 489 imágenes SPOT, 173 imágenes LANSAT, 5,250 ortofotos de 2 metros de resolución y 319 con resolución de 1.5 metros, y la carga de imágenes RapidEye del periodo 2013 - 2016.

Simulación numérica del movimiento de estructuras de control en canales de riego

Para representar mediante modelación matemática el movimiento de estructuras de control en canales de riego, se analizaron tres procedimientos de simulación de maniobras de estructuras que controlan el caudal y el tirante. Estos procedimientos se simularon con un modelo del flujo transitorio en canales que resuelve las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant, mediante un esquema implícito de diferencias finitas. Con estos procedimientos se modifican el almacenamiento y el aporte en las mallas vecinas a la estructura de control, la cual puede ser una compuerta, un vertedor, una exclusa o un repartidor de caudal, entre otros. Con estas modificaciones es posible simular maniobras progresivas e instantáneas de las estructuras de control. Se encontró que si la variable a regular es el tirante es recomendable usar la ejecución de maniobra instantánea o la maniobra progresiva con reinicialización de gasto, pero si la variable a regular es el caudal, es preferible la maniobra progresiva con reinicialización de tirante.

Geospatial analysis of the distribution of empty spaces located in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas

Reflect about urban empty spaces means looking around all these lots that are distributed in different geographical points of the cities and are characterized because they are still waiting to be built, therefore, they are vacant, and also these spaces are empty in the sense of not provide any function. In this sense, the objective of this article is to present a methodological proposal specially designed to study this type of urban elements from the particular point of view of urban geography and spatial analysis. Specifically, through a series of surveys, both digital and physical, the various urban voids located in the city of Nuevo Laredo were recorded, thereby creating a database that included a total of 3,836 case studies. In this way, using different types of statistical techniques and spatial models, it was possible to obtain and interpret the results, managing to identify exactly what were the main patterns and characteristics of said geographic distribution.

La presente contribución es un acercamiento a la historia biocultural del Agave cocui Trelease. En la América tropical (Neotrópico), pueblos indígenas y comunidades rurales evidencian una milenaria riqueza de conocimientos en el manejo y aprovechamiento de especies nativas. Sin embargo, los datos sobre A. cocui son fragmentarios e imprecisos. Desde la condición diacrónica de la antropología, son enunciadas y confrontadas diversas líneas de evidencias, a partir de la temprana descripción de Galeotto Cey en el siglo XVI y los orígenes amerindios de su nombre vernáculo. Revitalizar los conocimientos tradicionales sobre la especie contribuiría a mitigar eventuales impactos ambientales y a su aprovechamiento integral y sostenible.

Con la finalidad de impulsar el desarrollo de la región sureste de México, la actual administración del gobierno federal se ha propuesto la ampliación de la red nacional de gasoductos hacia esa zona del país, con el fin de suministrar energía a los megaproyectos de la región. No obstante, estas obras presentan actualmente retrasos, evidenciando la necesidad de metodologías de gestión que permitan solucionar este problema de raíz. Una de las metodologías más prometedoras en esta materia es la front-end loading (FEL), ampliamente aplicada en el sector extractivo y energético. El propósito del articulo estriba en evaluar la posibilidad de aplicar la metodología FEL a los proyectos de expansión del Sistema Nacional de Gasoductos en el sureste mexicano.

To boost the development of the southeast region of Mexico, the current federal government administration has proposed the expansion of the national gas pipeline network to this area of the country, to supply energy to the region's mega-projects. However, these projects are currently experiencing delays, demonstrating the need for management methodologies to solve this problem at its root. One of the most promising methodologies in this area is front-end loading (FEL), which has been widely applied in the extractive and energy sector. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the possibility of applying the FEL methodology to the expansion projects of the National Gas Pipeline System in the southeastern México.

Abduction according to Peirce: reflections from the south on the crisis of representation brought on by COVID-19

In this article, I reflect on the importance of abductive thinking for processes of material and conceptual reinvention in the context of the current public health crisis. Inseparable from the climate change engulfing the planet, this crisis provides the basis for a semiotic revolution. Therefore, I interrogate Peirce’s work without losing sight of my own time and place of interlocution. COVID-19 has brought with it a crisis of representation which, in contrast to that unleashed by the Holocaust and World War II, and to which the Frankfurt School responded, demands responses from the Global South. Beginning from Dussel’s call to defend life as a matter of ethical urgency in the face of its irresponsible objectification within colonial capitalist modernity –which arguably triggered the pandemic–, I trace a “nocturnal map” that registers the present meaning-making crisis, and allows for a reimagining and remaking of the world from elsewhere.
