KDSmart: Training Materials and Sample Files
Sarah Hearne Terence Molnar Kate Dreher Claudio César Ayala Hernández (2016)
KDSmart is an app that can be used for data collection on any Android-based tablet or smartphone. It has many helpful features for capturing data in field and lab settings. This study contains documents and presentations that describe how KDSmart can be used and includes example files for traits, trials/nurseries, and tags that can be downloaded and serve as templates for loading on any device running KDSmart.

Genotyping and re-sequencing are among a suite of tools used to enable rapid and cost-effective tool to study genetic diversity. This workshop will explore its use in the genetic curation of accessi ons within and between collection(s). With such information across global collections, it becomes possible identify the truly unique accessions across all of our gene banks, identify possible gaps in the global collection and enable more targeted access to genetic diversity. The workshop will discuss presentations from each participant on use cases. Lessons learned from initiatives such as CIMMYT’s Seeds for Discovery for maize and wheat, and CIP’s investigations on sweet potato and at IITA and CIAT for cassava will be considered.

These data describe the evaluation of landraces and landrace-derived pre-breeding materials for biotic and abiotic stress resistance as well as for general yield potential in 2016. Populations and accessions of interest for terminal drought and Tar Spot tolerance were evaluated for yield potential and response to both stresses under the MasAgro Biodiversidad project. Populations and accessions of interest for terminal heat and MCMV tolerance were evaluated for response to both stresses under the MAIZE CRP project.

These data describe the evaluation of landrace-derived pre-breeding materials for biotic and abiotic stress resistance as well as for general yield potential in 2017. Populations of interest for drought stress during flowering time, heat stress during flowering time, and Tar Spot tolerance were evaluated for yield potential and response to the stresses under the MasAgro Biodiversidad project. Populations of interest for MCMV tolerance were evaluated for response to stress under the MAIZE CRP project.
